Well, here we are 4 weeks till Christmas and I'm wondering whether or not all my little plans will get finished.  My main project at the moment are sets of wooden boxes decorated for various people.  If you haven't been in QD lately, check out their range of plain wooden boxes, unfinished, from £1.99 for a set of two nesting boxes.  I painted them all first with white undercoat, and now I'm doing them in stages with acrylics, mixing the colours to suit the person.  I've developed the most amazing dusky rose, I'm very proud of it.  This is working out great for crafting on the quick as a coat of acrylic goes on fast but needs time to dry so I can pop in and out of my craft room for half an hour here and there.  The question is will I run out of days?

Oh, and don't forget to sand the boxes after you undercoat as otherwise you end up with a bumpy surface!  :-)

Revised and restarted!

Here I am skiving off work with a snotty cold and decided to redo and restart my blog.  I've been thinking about this for some time, about my struggle to find time to be creative and how to share that.

There are so many beautiful blogs out there with so many inspiring craft creations.  I sometimes envy them because they must have loads of time, or at least they don't work full time and have school age children to run around after.

But I'm not one to let the green eyed monster get to me, so instead I make creative use of the little time I have.  I make cards as they are quick, and larger projects are split up into smaller bits.  At least I always have time to let the glue dry!

And stitching time for an hour in front of the telly is sacred and is a must on most days.  It may take me longer to get projects done, but they are always worth the wait.
